Addiction Thrives in Secrecy

With addiction rising to record levels in America, faith leaders in Savannah are joining together and shining a bright light on this fatal disease.
They are confronting the secrecy and equipping themselves with knowledge.
Only 12% of America’s faith leaders learn about addiction in their preparatory studies, while nearly one in three people in the pews of any church, synagogue, mosque or temple struggle with addiction themselves or they love someone who struggles.
This outreach is happening in Savannah, thanks to our 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all-volunteer organization founded in mid-2018 by faith leaders and laity. We call ourselves the Interfaith Addiction and Recovery Coalition (IARC).
